It was in her home kitchen, while searching for a creative solution and with her family’s help, that Caramell Coffee was born. The first accidental recipe for a creamy coffee mix was not just delicious; it was the taste of a new beginning.
In the early days, creativity was key: Cristina sold the coffee cream in used olive jars—removing the original label and decorating the packaging with ribbons from the Christmas tree to bring the product to life. This gourmet cream quickly won the hearts of friends and neighbors, transforming a moment of crisis into a successful business opportunity.
From the Mixer to a National Powerhouse (Franchising & Growth)
What started with a simple kitchen mixer quickly became a sales hit. The passion for quality led to exponential growth. Just three years later, in 2015, the business attracted its first franchisees in Espírito Santo, Brazil. This demand required the construction of eight proprietary factories across Brazil and the formation of a team of Food Engineers.
Today, Caramell Coffee has over 180 franchisees throughout the country, ensuring the Specialty Coffee seal and the velvety texture in every jar. This scale allows us to maintain excellence.
The Fall and the Triumph (The Pandemic Crisis)
Despite its national success, the journey faced its biggest test: the global pandemic. The crisis hit Caramell Coffee hard, resulting in a loss of over $200,000 USD (more than 1 million Reais), forcing the company to lay off employees and execute a complete restructuring from the ground up. It was a moment of true financial collapse.
Yet, the brand's resilience and strength prevailed. Instead of giving up, the company rebuilt. Four years after this re-establishment, the brand not only recovered but began a massive global expansion.
